ABOUT THE COURSE

These qualifications are for learners who want to develop and extend their digital and IT skills to prepare for different roles in the digital and creative industries, such as software and programming, network support and digital design. The qualifications are also designed for job
roles in other industries where specific digital and IT skills are required, such as finance, marketing, machining and manufacturing. The qualifications include a mandatory unit along with optional units that relate directly to the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by
employers and cover a wide range and use of different digital technologies, systems and software.

The qualifications’ purpose are to:
• prepare learners to progress to a qualification in the same sector or a related area at a higher level
• prepare learners for employment within different roles in the digital and creative industries and in other industries that require specific digital and IT skills

You will be studying the following units:

T/618/3684 Games Design and Development

M/618/3697 Website Design and Development

L/618/3674 Cybersecurity

J/618/3690 Networking

H/618/3678 Database Design and Development

K/618/3696 Using Digital Technologies

T/618/3703 Computer Programming

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above or a Level 1 Diploma in IT

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Assessment is continuous throughout the year and based on assignments and projects.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Aged 16-18


If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2


If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a specialist Level 3 Foundation Diploma/Extended Diploma, an apprenticeship or employment
