Human Resource Management - Level 5 Diploma (CIPD)

This CIPD qualification gives you the opportunity to build on your Human Resources and Learning and Development expertise and gain a professional level of CIPD membership. Set at undergraduate level, this qualification is suitable for middle managers looking to develop a career in HR management, and for those who want to study a recognised qualification or need to understand the role of Human Resources and Learning and Development in the wider organisational and environmental context.

Our teachers are currently planning for the safest ways to deliver this course from September. We have been delivering all of our courses online since the outbreak of Coronavirus in March 2020, and we are fully equipped to continue this for as long as is necessary. 

We are planning to deliver the course in a mixed format - blending online lessons with face-to-face teaching – as and when we feel that, on the basis of Government advice and our own risk assessments, it is safe to do so. We’ll continue to review our plans and keep you updated on changes as your course progresses.

For this course, our plans for a flexible, mixed format mean that:

• 60% of this course will be delivered via virtual teaching, with 40% taking place face-to-face onsite
• Theory sessions will be delivered online through Microsoft Teams and Moodle for resources
• Our care and commitment to students is paramount – tutorials and one-to-ones will be delivered online, providing you with a high level of support and opportunities to complete any work you have with your tutor 
• Support services are available at the click of a button, and we will also be here to help you with any personal difficulties

The CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management (QCF) qualification is a total of 44 credits (four core units of 20 credits in total and 14 credits taken from optional units). To achieve the Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management you must successfully complete the following core units (20 credits):

• Developing Professional Practice (5DVP)
• Business Issues and the Context of Human Resources (5CHR)
• Using Information in Human Resources (5UIN)
• Managing and Co-ordinating the Human Resources Function (5HRF)

You will also need to complete 14 credits of optional units.

You will need:

• Experience working in Human Resources
• Attainment of the CIPD Foundation Diploma at Level 3 is desirable but not compulsory
• English Language, equivalent to IELTS 4.5

The assessments are completed via a combination of methods set by CIPD.

If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as Level 7 CIPD qualifications. Previous students have progressed into management roles or have chosen to specialise in areas such as Talent Management or Organisational Change.
