ABOUT THE COURSE

This course will help you develop your knowledge, communication and practical skills, needed to work in the care sector.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered can include:

  • Introduction to Communication in Health
  • Social Care and Young People's Settings
  • The Role of the Health and Social Care Worker
  • Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You do not need to have any previous qualifications.

You will need:

  • An Enhanced DBS check

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Assessment is by coursework over the duration of your study.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a Level 3 qualification or an apprenticeship.
