ABOUT THE COURSE

This course is designed to support career development in HR by providing a foundation to build on and an introduction to the knowledge and capabilities needed by today’s HR professionals. You will gain an internationally recognised CIPD qualification and explore the full range of topics at this level to gain associate membership of the CIPD, allowing you to use the designation Assoc. CIPD after your name to showcase your credentials.

This course will commence in September with weekly virtual classes supplemented with a monthly ‘Face to Face’ class to be held at Westminster Kingsway College’s Victoria Centre, 76 Vincent Square, Westminster, London from 6pm until 9pm. All other weeks will be delivered virtually via zoom. If you don’t want to journey into London for the monthly Face to Face class, you can also attend it virtually using zoom if you prefer. If you are interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources, a CIPD qualification is a must.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

  • Business, culture and change in context 3CO01
    This unit considers the impact of external influences and how the digital and commercial environment shapes businesses and the culture within which they operate. It considers the importance of people’s behaviour on organisational culture and its ability to manage change effectively.
  • Principles of analytics 3CO02
    This unit looks at how people professionals make both straightforward and complex choices as they carry out their roles. It focuses on how utilising a diverse range of analytics and evidence is essential to the rationalisation and enhancement of working practices and situational decision-making to create value.
  • Core behaviours for people professionals 3CO03
    This unit introduces the core behaviours for people professionals, focusing on ethical practice to create value. It considers how certain ways of thinking and acting should be universally consistent, even in new and challenging situations, to promote a sense of well-being and inclusivity in the organisation.
  • Essentials of people practice 3CO04
    This unit introduces the fundamentals of people practice, ranging from the employee lifecycle to policies, regulation and law. It further explores a diverse array of specialist subjects such as recruitment, talent management, reward and learning and development, essential to a career in people practice. Importantly, this unit enables practitioners to apply their knowledge and skills, building their confidence and ability to practise progressively.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • To be aged 18 or older
  • To be fluent in English language (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required if English is not your first language)
  • Access to a computer and the internet, plus basic computer skills
  • Pass an interview with the course leader.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The qualification is granted following a professional assessment of coursework and written assignments, which gauge your ability to apply acquired knowledge and the development of your skills and competencies.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Tuition Fees £2,750, payable in advance of starting your course. We also offer a deferred payment option of 50% payment upfront, with the remainder of the course fees due 3 months later. If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

After this course, you could apply to junior roles such as HR Administrator or HR Assistant. This course will also help you move on to higher-level courses, such as the Human Resource - People Management - Level 5 Diploma.
