Networking is often seen as daunting, but this masterclass is designed to transform that perception and help you approach it with confidence and clarity.
Delivered by Stacey Carr, Head of Inclusion and Skills at London’s renowned Donmar Warehouse, this session will reframe your mindset so that networking becomes an enjoyable and valuable part of your professional journey.
Stacey brings extensive experience as an independent consultant, coaching producers, production companies, talent, and brands through the creative process of preparing projects for partnership and pitch phases, as well as guiding them through the complexities of the entertainment industry. Her impressive portfolio includes working as an Exec-for-Hire for organisations such as S4C, Four8 Media, Zig Zag Productions, and TIME Studios, and she played a pivotal role as a consultant and US liaison for the Creative Corridor initiative (2022–2023)—an immersive transatlantic programme supporting US and UK-based writers of colour in collaboration with Sony and the Independent Film Trust.
This masterclass will debunk common misconceptions about networking—it is not about taking or giving in a transactional way, but about building authentic relationships that foster mutual growth. You will learn practical strategies to start conversations, maintain connections, and create opportunities without feeling forced. The session will help you find your own networking style, ensuring that your approach feels genuine and aligned with your personality. By shifting your mindset from anxiety to empowerment, you will leave with the confidence to connect meaningfully, whether at industry events, online platforms, or within your organisation.
You will need to be eligible to study in the UK. Upon enrolment, you will be asked to upload residency and income documents for college funding purposes.
