Generative AI with Adobe Firefly – Introduction (Creative Skills Academy)

Discover how Generative AI can enhance — not replace — your creative practice in this introduction to Adobe Firefly. Designed for designers and creatives at all levels, this course shows you how to generate high-quality AI imagery while maintaining creative control, visual consistency, and professional standards. Led by an experienced industry practitioner, you’ll learn how AI fits into real-world design workflows, from branding and campaigns to concept development and production.

Through guided demonstrations and practical exercises, you’ll move beyond experimentation to intentional, controlled image-making. You’ll explore how to refine prompts, shape visual style, and build cohesive image systems that work across multiple outputs. The course culminates in a final project that takes you from concept to presentation, giving you the confidence to integrate Generative AI into your work responsibly and creatively.

In this course, you will learn how to:

• Understand the fundamentals of Generative AI and its role in the creative industries
• Generate high-quality images using Adobe Firefly’s text-to-image tools
• Control style, realism, lighting, composition, and mood
• Refine and adapt visuals using Generative Fill and Generative Expand
• Build consistent image systems for branding, campaigns, or narratives
• Integrate Firefly into professional Adobe Creative Cloud workflows
• Present AI-assisted creative work clearly and professionally

You MUST have:

• Basic computer skills and independent study outside class are required
• Access to appropriate hardware and software
• Commitment to at least 3 hours per week of independent practice

This course is for 19+ adults only who are GLA residents.
