What Will I Study?

Modules can include:

  • Unit 1: Working as a CCTV Operator
  • Unit 2: Principle of working in a Security Industry
  • Unit 3: Practical on CCTV Systems

What Will I Need?

The course is open to anyone who would like a career in CCTV operations. You do not need any prior qualifications or experience to attend this course.

CCTV licence

To be successful in obtaining a job as a CCTV Operator after this course, you will be required to gain a CCTV licence.

To obtain a CCTV licence you must:

  • Be 18 or over
  • Have 5 years of checkable work or residence history
  • Have no criminal convictions (Certain offences may disqualify you; check the SIA website for details)
  • Have valid proof of identity
  • Successfully complete an approved CCTV training course

We will support you in applying for the CCTV licence. To complete the application for this licence you will need to bring the following documents to enrolment:

  • Valid Passport (UK or foreign) or UK Birth Certificate
  • Driving Licence (if available)
  • Proof of Address (recent utility bill, bank statement, or council tax bill)
  • Right to Work Documents (BRP card or EU Settlement Scheme Share Code, if applicable)

Assessment

Pre-assessment and enrolment

To secure a place on the course, you must take an English assessment and achieve a minimum score of Level 1 to qualify.

Assessments are on each Thursday at below address at 10:30 AM. It can take up to 2 hours to complete enrolment and assessment forms.

After completion of the course:

  • 2 Theory Exams and 1 Practical Assessment

Cost

  • Course cost: £275
  • License cost: £184 (payable to SIA for license application after passing the exam)
