3D Modelling with Autodesk 3ds Max - Introduction (Digital Skills Academy)

This Introduction to 3D Max course is designed to allow you to begin your journey in 3D modelling and visualisation within a class studio setting led by a visualisation specialist.

You will be guided through the basics of digital modelling and representation step by step, enabling you to learn to work comfortably in Autodesk 3ds Max.

By the end of the course, you will have a fully set-up scene and rendered output, including a clear foundation to continue developing your skills.

During the duration of the course, you will have access to Autodesk 3DS Max both in and out of sessions so that you can practise at your own pace between classes.

Independent practice is encouraged, and tasks will be set to help reinforce what is covered each week.

What you will learn:

• A brief introduction to digital modelling and visual representation to start you off
• The 3DS Max user interface, setup and navigation
• Core 2D and 3D modelling techniques, including the use of modifiers
• Basic materials, camera, and lighting setup
• Introductory scene organisation and rendering fundamentals

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge and confidence in using computers
• Comfortable working in a classroom-based learning environment
• Willingness to engage in peer-to-peer learning (encouraged but not mandatory)
• Independent time set aside each week (1 hour or more) to practice, depending on your personal learning goals.

You will need to be eligible to study in the UK. Upon enrolment, you will be asked to upload residency and income documents for college funding purposes.

This course is for 19+ adults only. This course is free if you earn less than £28,860pa.
