Premier League and International footballer Danny Shittu delivers inspiring talk to Capital City College students

Students attend an engaging motivational talk highlighting the importance of perseverance by successful international footballer Danny Shittu 

On 24 October, former Premier League and international footballer Danny Shittu visited Capital City College (CCC) to deliver a motivational speech to students about the importance of perseverance. The talk, which took place at the college’s Enfield centre, involved around 50 students from Sport and Fitness courses at the college.

Danny’s impressive career has involved playing for several Premier League teams including Bolton Wanderers, Queens Park Rangers, Millwall and Watford as well as representing Nigeria in the 2010 World Cup. During his time on the pitch, Danny played against some of the best players in the world, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Wayne Rooney. 

During his engaging and inspiring talk. Danny talked about his upbringing and various key moments in his career. He encouraged students to persevere when faced with challenges and to never stop believing in themselves. After the talk, students were able to talk to him in person and ask further questions about his career and experiences.

Nihaad Kapdi, Head of Sport at Capital City College, said: “It was great to see the passion that Danny brought to his talk and how he can relate to our student base. His experience and upbringing was something which really hit home with our students and he came across as a role model for a lot of our students. I know the talk will have an impact and will give them hope that they can achieve great things if they put their mind to it.”
