Capital City College’s School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts team have been recognised for delivering outstanding education at the Pearson National Teaching Awards.
The School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts team at Capital City College (CCC) have taken home the Gold Award for FE Team of the Year at the Pearson National Teaching Awards. The School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts Team is based at CCC’s Westminster centre (formerly known as Westminster Kingsway College).
The Pearson National Teaching awards are an annual celebration of education which recognise the incredible work of teaching communities across the UK. The awards consist of 16 categories across primary, secondary and further education sectors.
After reaching the shortlist earlier this year, four senior staff members, Paul Jervis, Miranda Quantrill, Sharon Barry and Vince Kelly, from the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts attended the Annual Award Ceremony on 30 November at The Brewery in East London. The event was hosted by presenter Gaby Roslin and Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities. The team were delighted when it was announced that they had won the FE Team of the Year Award and proudly collected the award on behalf of their colleagues.
The team at the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts is made up of outstanding staff members as well as a supportive management team. The team were keen to credit their industry partners as well as past and present members of the teaching and support staff for their ongoing commitment to excellence. The FE Team of the Year Award recognises the impact of the team’s work in providing students with an impressive and wide-reaching array of opportunities, from guest lectures by leading chefs to exciting industry placements and networking events.
