Students from Capital City College’s Health and Social Care courses raise money for a prominent cancer charity with a coffee morning event.
A group of Capital City College’ (CCC) students displayed strong organisational skills and supported a charity by hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning. The event, which took place on 27 September, was organised and led by students in Health and Social Care courses.
The students set up and ran the college’s annual Macmillan Coffee Morning in the atrium at the college’s King’s Cross centre to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. They sold a variety of delicious baked goods and hot drinks to fellow students and college staff members, enabling customers to buy and enjoy a sweet treat while contributing to a charitable cause.
Aleena Sharif, Events and Activities Co‑ordinator said: “Their enthusiasm and teamwork created a warm atmosphere that encouraged everyone to join in and support a great cause. This event not only fostered community spirit but also highlighted the students’ commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by cancer.”
The event raised an impressive £123.20 for Macmillan Cancer Support while raising awareness of the charity and its work.
At CCC, we encourage students to get involved with volunteering opportunities that will support them in developing skills and engaging positively with their community.
