The event, which attracted between 250 and 300 students, was organised to mark the start of the academic year and to extend a warm welcome to both the new cohort and returning students.

There were representatives from a diverse range of external organisations who provided information and advice to students. The Welcome Fest was designed to ensure that students could access a vast array of information about the support and resources available to them.

Staff members from within the college also ran stalls to showcase different areas where the college provides expert support such as student finance, career support, learner services and safeguarding. Students were able to gather leaflets and free items from the various departments and organisations represented at the event.

To add to the celebratory atmosphere, students were also able to refuel with snacks from the popcorn machine, candy floss stall and a pick-and-mix station. The event was organised by Aleena Sharif, Events and Activities Co‑ordinator, Jennifer Oteng Employability & Events Co-ordinator and Elisha Lashley, Princes Trust Team Leader.
