Capital City College Careers Team shortlisted for prestigious AoC Beacon Awards

Capital City College has been awarded Beacon Standard and Commended in the Excellence in Careers and Enterprise category in this year’s AoC Beacon Awards

Capital City College (CCC) is delighted to announce that they have been awarded Beacon Standard and Commended Status in this year’s Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Awards. The college’s Careers Team is one of only three shortlisted colleges in the running for The Careers & Enterprise Company Award for Excellence in Careers and Enterprise.

The AoC Beacon Awards celebrate exemplary practice in career education and recognise the college’s commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) along with its work in creating an environment in which every student has equal access to opportunities. 

With programmes targeting underrepresented and priority groups, CCC’s dedicated Careers Team provides a comprehensive college-wide careers programme including mentorship, masterclasses, and paid work placements to to support students facing financial barriers. The diversity of the college’s professional volunteers mirrors our student population, inspiring students to see their potential for success in various industries. 

The CCC Careers Team also works to develop and support partnerships with organisations such as SiSTEM, a platform connecting women in STEM and Everything Diversity and Inclusion, a centralised hub for EDI initiatives, in order to ensure that all students can move towards career paths free from inequality.

The Beacon finalists for each award category will be announced on 12 November during the AoC Annual Conference.
