Foundation and Supported Learning Apprenticeships

Our Foundation and Supported Learning courses can help you become employable, prepare you for the workplace and provide skills in English, Maths and ICT.

We believe every student has great potential and are committed to providing education of the highest quality to everyone. We can help you improve your skills and knowledge to prepare you for employment or for going on to another course at a higher level.

We have a wide range of courses for 16-18-year-olds to develop their Foundation Learning skills and offer courses for adults in core subjects.

All our classes have experienced tutors and classroom assistants to ensure the appropriate support is in place. The group size is small (10 learners), and each learner is assigned their own tutor to guide them through their course of study and advise on future progression.

We also offer a Supported Internship Programme for those with additional support needs aged 16-25 years old, with an EHCP, to have the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed in their chosen industries.

Support

For those with identified additional support needs and/or medical conditions, professional guidance and support is available. We provide support for students with various additional needs, including:

  • Individuals with an EHC plan
  • Physical disabilities
  • Learning difficulties
  • Specific learning difficulties like dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD/ADD
  • Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Visual or hearing impairments
  • Medical conditions
  • Mental health difficulties

You’ll be invited to a confidential support needs assessment meeting by the ALS department to discuss your needs and the support available during your studies.
