A Level Spanish builds upon your existing knowledge gained at GCSE, giving you a sound understanding of using your language in a variety of contexts and situations - at home, abroad, with friends or in the workplace. Spanish is the second most widely-spoken language in the world and one of the most widely-understood languages in Europe, with over 400 million speakers; studying A Level Spanish can provide you with the speaking, listening and understanding skills to continue your studies in Spanish at university, as well as equipping you to work and travel in Europe, Central and South America, and other Spanish-speaking countries.
Speaking - You will be able to communicate with over 400 million people across the world
Listening - You will be able to understand spoken Spanish, as well as watch Spanish films and TV shows, and listen to podcasts and music
Reading - You will be able to read Spanish books, newsletters and magazines, as well as alerts and notices
Writing - You will be able to write in many different styles, for different audiences, using the most appropriate styles

During the 1st year, there will be 5 formal internal assessments that you will need to pass in order to progress into the 2nd year. At the end of the 2nd year, there are three public examinations, one of which is an oral exam.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.
