ABOUT

This course will provide you with the knowledge and understanding to work with individuals with learning disabilities or difficulties. You will explore the principles of safeguarding and positive risk-taking and gain an awareness of the autistic spectrum.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

During this year-long course, you are required to study 6 mandatory units. these include:

  • Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities
  • Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
  • Introduction to personalisation in social care
  • Principles of positive risk-taking for individuals with disabilities
  • Introductory awareness of autistic spectrum conditions
  • Principles of supporting others with a learning disability to access healthcare

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

To achieve this Level 2 Certificate, you must successfully demonstrate the achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the 6 mandatory units.

FEES

Adults - LEVEL 2

This course may be free for you if you meet certain conditions:

  • If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
  • If you are aged 19-23 and you do not have the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade 9-4. You need to show us proof of any qualifications you already have.
  • Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
  • There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.

PROGRESSION
