ABOUT

This course is designed for adult learners who would like to progress onto higher levels of study in Health, Social care or Social work. The course will enable you to learn sector-specific knowledge, understanding and skills that will ease your progression to a Level 3 course.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

On this course, you will study a range of units that provide you with the underpinning knowledge you need to study at Level 3:

  • Diet and Nutrition
  • Introduction to Psychology 
  • Mental Health and Disorders
  • Introduction to Sociology
  • Science in Medicine
  • Healthcare Provision in England and Wales

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To take this course you will need to be aged 18 or over and have a Level 1 qualification in English and Maths.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

You are assessed on this course through a portfolio of evidence which could include report writing, presentations and role play.

FEES

Adults - LEVEL 2

This course may be free for you if you meet certain conditions:

  • If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
  • If you are aged 19-23 and you do not have the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade 9-4. You need to show us proof of any qualifications you already have.
  • Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
  • There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.

PROGRESSION

This course will enable you to progress onto an Access to HE Diploma in a range of subjects including Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Health and Social Care and Social studies.
