Without our understanding of atomic theory, we would not have computers, the internet or smartphones - the digital age, as we know it, would not exist. Without quantum mechanics, we would not have lasers or satellite navigation. Who knows where future scientific discoveries and inventions will take us?

Whether you are working in a field directly related to physics, such as nuclear physics or astronomy, or one that simply uses the skills you’ve gained, your knowledge and experience can make a difference to the world as a whole.

During the first year, you will have an initial assessment followed by four progress assessments throughout the year 12. You must pass the assessment at the end of the first year to progress on to the second year.
At the end of the second year, you will sit three public examinations. You will also be assessed throughout the year on the practical work you complete to achieve your practical endorsement.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2025 before the start date of the course, and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your course then your study with us will be free.
