ABOUT

Are you aged +19 and wanting to take your first step into a career in HR and people management?

This industry-recognised qualification is designed to give you the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in entry-level HR, learning and development, and people practice roles.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

The course covers four key units that give you a strong grounding in the fundamentals of people practice:

  • Business, culture and change in context – understand how organisations work and how people professionals contribute to success.
  • Principles of analytics – learn to use data and evidence to inform decisions.
  • Core behaviours for people professionals – develop the skills, ethics and professionalism needed to thrive in HR and L&D.
  • Essentials of people practice – gain practical knowledge in recruitment, performance, reward, and supporting employee relations

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To join this course, you’ll need:

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or equivalent.

Other relevant qualifications at Level 3 may also be considered.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

4 assessments, 1 per module.

FEES

Adults - Level 3

This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:

  • If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
  • If you are aged 19-23 and you do not have a full Level 3 qualification (a full L3 is the equivalent of two A-levels at A* - E grade). You need to show us proof of any qualifications you already have.
  • Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions for at least 12 months if you live in London, or 3 years if you live outside London.
  • There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee yourself, or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

If you have to pay for your course, and decide to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan (ALL), the residency rules are different: https://www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan.

PROGRESSION

Completing this qualification opens doors to a wide range of HR and people-focused roles such as HR Assistant, People Administrator, L&D Coordinator, or Recruitment Assistant. It also provides the foundation to progress onto the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, advancing your expertise and career opportunities in HR, people management, and organisational development.
