ABOUT

Take the next step in your HR career with the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management. This recognised qualification is designed for those with some HR experience or a Level 3 qualification who are ready to build deeper knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage people and drive organisational performance.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

You’ll develop the core knowledge and specialist expertise needed to succeed in people management, including 6 units such as:

  • Organisational performance and culture in practice
  • Employment relationship management
  • Evidence-based practice
  • 1 optional unit (learning and development)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To join this course, you’ll need:

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or an equivalent qualification.
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification (for example, the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice) or appropriate HR/people management experience.
  • Applicants may already hold a Level 3 qualification and be working towards a management role in HR. Alternatively, applicants with a first degree, Associate CIPD Membership, and several years of HR experience will also be considered.

All applicants will be required to attend an interview, provide evidence of qualifications and CIPD membership, and supply a reference from their employer.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

A variety of assessment methods will be used, including assignments, group work, timed assessments, role plays, and case studies.

For many of the assessments, you will be expected to draw on examples from your own workplace and use this as the basis for your case study analysis.

FEES

Adults - Level 5

This course may be at a reduced-cost for you if you meet certain conditions:

  • If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
  • Residency rules apply You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions for at least 12 months if you live in London, or 3 years before the start of the course if you live outside London.
  • There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee yourself, or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Some courses have an additional market premium that you need to pay, even if your course is funded or you take out an Advanced Learner Loan.

Some courses have additional costs, such as for specialist materials and trips.

PROGRESSION

With this qualification, you’ll be well-positioned for career opportunities such as HR Advisor, People and Culture Partner, Talent Manager, or Employee Relations Specialist. It also paves the way for further study at CIPD Level 7 in Strategic People Management and strengthens your route into senior HR roles.
