ABOUT

Our Level 3 Health or Social Care is a two-year, full-time course designed to prepare you for a future where you can make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether you’re aspiring to become a nurse, social worker, midwife, or allied health professional, this course is the ideal foundation.

Over the two years, you’ll gain in-depth knowledge of human development, safeguarding, psychology, sociology, and the principles of care. You’ll also build essential practical skills through hands-on learning and work experience in real care settings — from hospitals and residential homes to early years environments.

This qualification is equivalent in size to three A Levels.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Over the 2 years, you will learn a variety of units that are linked to health or social care practice.

Some of the units you will learn are as follows:

  • Working in social care
  • Sociology of Health
  • Psychology in Social Care
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Principles of Safe Practice in Health and Social Care
  • Promoting Public Health
  • Dementia Awareness

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need:

  • 5 GCSE Grade 4 or above to including English and/or Maths.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

Assessment is through a mix of coursework, controlled assessments, and observations. You’ll demonstrate your understanding through practical projects, case studies, and professional reports — all aligned with real-world expectations in the health and social care sector

FEES

AGED 16 - 18

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2025 before the start date of the course, and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your course then your study with us will be free.

PROGRESSION

Upon successful completion, you’ll have a range of progression options, including:

  • Employment in a variety of support or assistant roles in health, social care, and early years settings.
