ABOUT

The Level 2 Hairdressing course is the ideal starting point for those individuals who wish to pursue a career as a hair stylist. Our Level 2 course is designed to provide you with the skills to gain employment as a junior stylist within the industry.

You will study a range of beauty techniques, developing the skills you need to carry out basic hairdressing services such as shampooing, colouring, cutting, styling and finishing, setting and dressing as well as following health and safety, client consultations, promoting products and services and reception duties.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered include:

  • The art of dressing hair
  • Client consultation for hair services
  • Follow health and safety practices in the salon
  • Cut women's hair
  • Colour and lighten hair
  • Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
  • The art of colouring hair
  • Salon reception duties

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need either:

  • Level 1 Hairdressing qualification

or

  • Level 1 English qualification

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them. 

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the beauty salon, as well as observations, an e-portfolio, online testing, assignments and oral questioning.

FEES

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2


If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. PROGRESSION

On successful completion of the course, you can develop your skills further through the Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing.
