Esports - Level 2 Diploma

This course will prepare you for further study in esports - also known as competitive gaming - offering you a unique opportunity to study a sector that crosses over multiple subject areas such as sport, marketing, enterprise, IT and the creative arts. The esports industry is a fast-growing global industry. In February 2019, Newzoo published its 2019 Global Esports Market Report stating that, in 2018, the global esports market was valued at $655 million USD - this rose to nearly $865 million USD in 2019 and is projected to reach $1.79 billion USD in 2022.

Endorsed by the British Esports Association, you will study a range of topics including designing an esports game, streaming for esports and establishing an esports organisation.

Topics covered include:

• Esports Games, Teams and Tournaments
• Establishing an Esports Organisation
• Streaming for Esports
• Plan an Esports Event
• Start an Enterprise in Esports 
• Design an Esports Game

You will need:

• Three GCSEs at grade 3 or above or above or relevant Level 1 course

All applicants must have an interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

All units will be assessed internally through projects/assignments to test which are subject to external standard verification. These assessments are to check your understanding, knowledge and application of skills and techniques that help implement the different aspects of running an esports event.

Aged 16-18

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2

If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. On successful completion of this course, you could progress higher level courses in Esports, Computing, an apprenticeship or employment.
