ABOUT

This course is ideal for individuals who have completed the Sage Business Cloud Computerised Payroll Level 1 qualification or have a basic understanding of payroll operations and wish to advance their skills. You will learn to perform more complex payroll tasks such as calculating statutory sick pay, statutory maternity pay, and managing pension schemes.

Developed by Sage, this course provides the latest industry-relevant payroll skills that employers seek. It is also highly beneficial for those intending to manage their own business payroll systems, potentially reducing costs and saving time by avoiding the need to outsource payroll duties to an external accountant.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

You will learn how to:

  • Set up company accounts, generate employee records and complete basic daily payroll functions
  • Calculate gross pay and process real-time information payments, as well as statutory sick, maternity and holiday pay
  • Process automatic pension enrolment, including opt-out
  • Amend errors in the payroll, including correction of the FPS
  • Complete period-end processing
  • Create reports for HMRC and calculate the cost of wages
  • Submit the EPS – employer payment summary
  • Manage data security and software management

On completion, you will be awarded the Sage Business Cloud Payroll Level 2 Certificate.

  • Have previously worked in a payroll environment and have not yet gained a formal payroll qualification.

  • Are already employed in payroll processing or associated roles and wish to ensure that they have both a firm foundation and the knowledge and skills to perform some non-routine payroll tasks.
