Our A Level Intensives allow you to study the entire 2-year A Level syllabus in just under a year.
Chemistry allows you to study the basis of all chemical substances, the understanding of which has greatly improved the quality of life for most people around the world. Our A Level course is underpinned by the practical skills that we call ‘How Science Works’. You will find out how chemists are real innovators, designing solutions to the problems that affect modern life, and using practical experiments and theory to underpin your knowledge.
Topics covered can include:
For applicants who are under the age of 18, the standard A Level programme is recommended. However, applicants aged 18 and over will be considered for the A Level Intensive course if they have already proven a record of achievement at A level or an equivalent level 3 qualification e.g. Grade D achieved in A Levels
To study this A Level Intensive, you will need:
All applicants must take an entry test and interview to confirm that the course suits them.
During the year there will be formal internal assessments, which you will need to pass to be entered into the final three public written examinations.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.
Some courses will have other associated costs, such as for specialist materials and trips. Many of our students are eligible for financial support, see here for details.
If you will be aged 19 to 23 prior to the start date of your course, and do not already have a full Level 3 qualification, you may be eligible for a Level 3 entitlement, in which case your study with us will be free. If you are older, or already have a Level 3, we have many other Level 3 courses that are also free to study. Otherwise, you will have to pay the fees yourself or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
