This course builds on your existing beauty therapy knowledge, covering advanced techniques to help you progress to senior beauty therapist.
You will cover specialist treatments such as laser and light hair removal, laser and light skin rejuvenation and microdermabrasion techniques, as well as dermatology and microbiology.
You will have plenty of opportunities to practise what you are learning with real customers in our salon, under the guidance of professional beauty experts.

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the beauty salon as well as through observations, an e-portfolio, online testing, assignments and oral questioning.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

If you will be aged 19+ before the start date of your course and plan to study a Further Education course at Level 4, and you are out of work or on a low income, your study with us may be free. Otherwise, you may have to pay the fees yourself or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Dr Gousalia Sukumar has held the position of Lecturer for Biomedical Engineering (collaboration with City University) and Animal Science at CAS for the last 10 years.
Her vast experience in the teaching field has stemmed from her history of delivering countless lessons on Biomedical Science (Clinical Health Care Technology for Higher Education collaborated with City University), Animal Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Health and diseases, Human Anatomy and Physiology over her career.
Furthermore, by specialising in pathology she has unrivalled expertise and acumen in microbiology that has contributed to her acclaimed depth of pedagogical practice. Being well-published in her field has also granted Dr Gousalia Sukumar opportunities to deliver presentations at distinguished and reputable conferences. Moreover, she has acted as an exceptional research designer and supervised final-year Animal Management students aiding them in their future studies. Aside from her core responsibilities as a lecturer, Dr Gousalia Sukumar has taken up duties with Pearson, acting as an External Examiner in Animal Biology as well as a Standard Verifier and Internal Moderator.
Her current interests include developing innovative research projects in bacteriology and virology in addition to the completion of MAAP with an emphasis on the implementation of modern clinical technologies in tertiary education.
