
This course is aimed at adult non-native English speakers looking to work in a Business or Accounting and Finance working environment. You must have achieved a minimum of Entry 3 in English or be working at that level. This course will help you to develop your workplace English skills and is designed for people who are either learning English or are interested in further developing their English language skills for workplace/employability context. The aim each week will be to focus on those key aspects of English commonly used in the workplace. This will assist in those who are searching for jobs, applying for jobs, perparing for interviews, starting new jobs, changing job roles and now working with a new team. This is not an English language course but focuses primarily on English used in the workplace so we will be looking at those common phrases and some workplace scenarios. Examples of topics we will cover include applying for a job, interviews, starting a job, meeting new colleagues
Please be prepared to provide your residency documents such as a passport, EU citizen ID card, UK Birth Certificate or Biometric Card. If you have been in the UK for less than 3 years or have entered the UK with a visa you will need to provide evidence that you are eligible to study in the UK - your visa, your biometric card that covers the duration of your course or any relevant home office documents to support your residency should all be provided. If you’re an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen we will need to see evidence of 'Pre-Settled' or 'Settled-status' documents. Also for funding purposes we would need to see evidence of payslips if working (within the last 3 months). If you are receiving benefits (e.g JSA, ESA, Universal Credit (UC), Housing benefits etc. please provide evidence of this).
