ABOUT THE COURSE

This course will help you develop your practical skills to an advanced level through a variety of advanced cutting techniques to enhance and personalise the clients' look, artistic colouring techniques to provide a range of looks, styling techniques and colour correction techniques. 

You will develop knowledge and understanding of monitoring and maintaining health and safety pratices throughout the treatments above and develop your promotion and selling of products and services to your clients.  

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Mandatory units:

  • Monitor and maintain health and safety
  • Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues
  • Colour Hair to create a variety of looks
  • Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks
  • Style and Dress hair using a variety of techniques
  • Promote products and services to clients
  • Hair Colour Correction
  • Bridal Hair Styling

All units have Exams and or Assignments attached alongside practical Assessments

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • To have a good understanding of English at Level 2 enabling you to sit exams and complete assignments
  • Any Level 2 or Level 2 equivalent Qualification previously achieved in any subject

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through practical observation, online exams and completed assignments.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

You can progress into the industry and work in a salon with these qualifications.
