
This course will advance your knowledge of the public services, including the army and police force, helping you to advance to further study or employment in the sector. Our teachers come from a variety of different uniformed services, and we have strong links with many large employers, giving you access to a wide range of activities and trips, which will give you valuable insight into the types of careers available.
Fitness is a major element of our public services courses, preparing you for selection tests within the armed forces or police force. You will also learn communication and English skills, which are essential so that you can communicate with members of the public and write-up notes and reports. Maths sills are also embedded into the course, helping you to read maps, perform compass work and undertake team planning.

Assessment is by coursework throughout the course.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances.
