
This course is designed for students who are looking to improve their understanding of injury, illness and rehabilitation in sport and active leisure. You will develop an understanding of the different types of injury and illness in sport along with the importance of warming up and cooling down. You will gain a greater understanding of sports rehabilitation techniques, including developing a rehabilitation programme.
Topics covered will include:
· Types of injuries in sport
· Types of illness in sport
· Treatment of injuries and illnesses in sport
· The physiological and psychological impact of injuries and illnesses in sport
· Creating rehabilitation programmes
No previous qualifications needed
You will be assessed via a combination of observations during practical tasks and written coursework. Assessments throughout the course vary from topic to topic, giving you a chance to showcase your development through a variety of methods.
Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. On successful completion of this course you may progress onto Level 2 YMCA Certificate in Gym Instructing, Level 2 YMCA Diploma in Exercise and Fitness Instructing, Level 2 NCFE Certificate in Nutrition and Health or any other short courses we offer.
