
This course will provide you with an introduction to the hair and beauty industry, working in our professional salons and developing communication and customer care skills.
You will develop essential transferrable skills such as health and safety, as well as begin to develop specialist hairdressing and beauty therapy technical knowledge such as assisting with skin and hand care, reception duties and setting and dressing hair. These skills will help you provide a stepping stone to undertake further training at Level 2, specialising in either hairdressing or beauty therapy.

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, collected from written assessments, presentations, witness statements and practice observation.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.
