Using a blended learning approach (online/classroom workshops/remotely, you will also learn about the media industry and develop employability skills. You will be assessed by portfolio. Your final project will be assessed by the examining board. Visits, trips and work experience are compulsory.

This course is assessed through coursework assignments, projects/ tests throughout the course, which are set and marked by your teachers and externally verified by the external examiners.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

If you will be aged 19 to 23 prior to the start date of your course, and do not already have a full Level 3 qualification, you may be eligible for a Level 3 entitlement, in which case your study with us will be free. If you are older, or already have a Level 3, we have many other Level 3 courses that are also free to study. Otherwise, you will have to pay the fees yourself or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Marek started at CONEL as an ESOL student back in 2007 and has now been teaching Creative Media for the past 4 years.
Marek has a great interest in the Media sector, especially in Games Design and has evolved their skills over time, but it was shortly after completing an IT Diploma that they knew they enjoyed helping classmates with their work and would enjoy a career in teaching.
After graduating from the Game Design, VFX and Animation course at university with 1st degree, Marek knew they wanted to pursue a career as an educator. Although their main area of specialism is 3D Games Design, due to natural interest in all different forms of the creative sector, through motivation, dedication, and willingness to learn, Marek developed in different fields of Media, including, photography, videography, traditional and digital animation, graphic creation and more.
Marek enjoys the challenge of teaching and getting the opportunity to continue to update their skills with new technological advancements to allow not only for the delivery of up-to-date content but also for their self-development.
Tamara is a dedicated Media Curriculum Manager for Creative Media and Music at CONEL. Throughout their career, Tamara has gained extensive experience in teaching students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, totalling twelve years.
Tamara possesses advanced technical proficiency and maintains a high level of IT skills, which play a crucial role in their teaching practice, as well as in freelance industry projects. Tamara is proficient in both Mac and PC platforms and utilises the complete range of Adobe Suite CC 2023 software.
During lessons, they actively encourage the development of IT skills through the utilisation of essential Microsoft/Google Apps such as Classroom, Teams, Drive, Sites, Sheets and Chat GPT.
In terms of education, Tamara holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Character Animation from the University of London Arts Central Saint Martin’s College, as well as a Master of Fine Arts Degree. Furthermore, they have obtained a ProfGCE Level 6 Education and Training (DET) qualification from Canterbury Christ Church University.
In their professional industry career, they worked with the companies such as National Gallery, Channel 4, Virgin Media, Imperial College London and many more.
Luke is a London-based educator and mixing Engineer/Producer whose 15 years of industry work have helped bring a wide array of prestigious records to life. From producing and engineering for the likes of Noel Gallagher, Mark Ronson, Bjork, Nick Cave, and Burial to name just a few. Luke has worked for many high-level record companies including Universal, Sony BMG, Columbia, and Island. Some of his work has appeared on various Netflix series.
Over the last twenty years, Luke has worked in many of the larger commercial recording studios in London and has written/taught various educational courses/masterclasses. During this time, Luke has had the pleasure of working alongside many talented industry veterans and helped nurture up-and-coming new talent.
Since joining CONEL Luke has designed and built a brand-new recording studio that has attracted more students to the department. He has expanded the range of courses on offer additional UAL Level 3 and the Extended Diplomas. Neither was running before his arrival.
Outside of academia, Luke has industry links and has just finished a collaboration with ‘Kings of Tomorrow’ for a new release on ‘Defected Records’ at his studio in Enfield. You can view Luke’s historic releases and credentials through his website lukebuttery.co.uk.
