ABOUT THE COURSE

This is a 10-week short course for those interested in counselling. The course will give learners a brief insight into the world of counselling and develop the essential skills to become a registered counsellor. This is an excellent course for those who are thinking of undertaking a formal qualification in counselling as it provides a taster of what would be the expectations and requirements for this type of work.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

  • Working within the limitation of the helping role
  • Establishing boundaries
  • Communication empathic understanding
  • Focus on the helpee's agenda
  • Understand the importance of self-awareness in helping work
  • Use listening and responding skills

WHAT WILL I NEED?

All applicants must be interviewed and will carry out a written assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Tutor assessment of learners through a portfolio of evidence.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2


If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning.
