
This course is designed primarily for 16 to 19+ learners who wish to achieve a Level 1 qualification in preparation for future study at a higher level and It will develop your basic knowledge about Biology, Chemistry and Physics but also the transferable skills, attributes and behaviours needed to progress to further study and ultimately to employment.

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed through classroom presentations, written assignments and practical reports. You will complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations and activities to introduce you to the different science related career options.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Once you succesfully complete your course, you will receive a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Applied Science and progress to a Level 2 Diploma in Applied Science or any other related field.
