Accounting - Level 2 Certificate (AAT)

This AAT course provides a solid foundation in accountancy, finance and business, preparing you for work in junior and entry-level accounting roles.

Topics covered can include:

• Recording income and receipts
• Initial trial balance
• Supplying information for management control
• Making and recording payments
• Health and safety
• Achieving personal effectiveness
• Working with accounting software (SAGE)

You will need:

• Two GCSEs at grade 4 or above (A*C) including English and Maths
• A reference from your previous school/college/employer

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be continuously assessed through skills tests and exams.

Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. On successful completion of this course, you could progress to a Level 3 course or an apprenticeship.

• Principles of Bookkeeping Controls
• Principles of Costing
• Business Environment synoptic

You will need:

• You will need to have good numeric skills and be able to complete exams and written projects in English.
• All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

4 assessments through formal online tests which are set by AAT at the centre

You will need to have a valid AAT membership registration for the duration of the course.

Students are required to pay AAT registration costs for new membership - £172, a one-off fee for access to the qualification for its lifetime, typically four to five years.

Existing student members are responsible for renewing their registration themselves.

On successful completion of this course, you could progress to a Level 3 course or an apprenticeship.
